Rita Kasimow BrownRita Kasimow Brown was born in the small town of Turmont, Poland. When the persecution of the Jews began, Rita's family spent many months in the Dryswiaty ghetto, doing forced labour. Upon escaping from the ghetto the family searched for refuge, hidig in barns, cattle sheds, pigsties, grottos, and caves in the forests. Ultimately, they found refuge in the Grub a narrow underground pit under the stable of a Christian family, where the family hid for twenty-two months. After the liberation, the Kasimow family moved to Germany and in 1949 they arrived in New York. Rita received several academic degrees in the USA and in Israel. In 1971, Rita and her two children made aliyah to Israel, where she currently resides. Throughout her life, Rita has used art and imagination to heal the soul and enrich it. Read More Read Less
