Riya Bhattacharya

Dr. Riya Bhattacharya is an academic and researcher specialising in biotechnology and health technology. She serves as Assistant Professor at Woxsen University and Co-Chairperson of the Centre of Excellence for Health Technology and Biodiversity. he holds a Chair Professorship under the mentorship of Prof. John P. A. Ioannidis of Stanford University, with a focus on research integrity and high-impact medical and public policy research.

Her work centres on antimicrobial resistance (AMR), exploring how natural compounds such as essential oils can act synergistically with conventional therapeutics to address drug-resistant pathogens. She is actively engaged in translational research at the interface of bioinnovation and global health, with contributions to peer-reviewed literature and intellectual property development.
