In his first twenty-five years Rob travelled a lot. In the last fifty years not so much. Over te years he has sought out supportive communities who have helped him with the challenges that life inevitably brings to us all. Those communities have included family, church, neighbourhood friends, classmates from school, and Toastmasters International, a non-profit educational organization that teaches public speaking and leadership skills through a worldwide network of clubs.

Reflecting on life and the art of public speaking, Rob saw how his views had evolved over the last three decades, and decided to share that knowledge and expertise with a wider audience. He wants to encourage every reader to consider what's important in their life, and to learn how to express that in public.
