Robert Koch

Dr Robert Koch is Professor at the University of Hamburg. He holds the chair of Private Law and Insurance Law. He is the director of the Institute of Insurance Law, which was founded in 1916, and the director of the LLM programme on insurane law. He is the chairman of the HamburgAssociation of Insurance Science and chairman of the International Insurance Law Association's Working Party on Financial Lines. In the latter capacity he is a member of the Presidential Council of the International Insurance Law Association (AIDA). His special interests lie in liability insurance with a focus on financial lines. He is the author of numerous articles and books on insurance law, especially on liability insurance, fidelity insurance and cyber risk insurance. He is the managing editor of the Bruck/ Moeller, the most comprehensive commentary on German insurance law, which consist of 12 volumes, where he comments inter alia on all classes of liability insurance and on motor insurance.
