Ordained for the Diocese of Rokford in 1981, "Father Bob," as he is known to many of his students, has published several articles in canon law in The Jurist and Studia Canonica, and is the author of Resurrection Power! Spiritual Solutions for an Anxious Age, and O Happy Fault: Personal Recovery through Spiritual Growth. Prior to university ministry, he served as Pastor of St. Mary Church in Huntley, Illinois; and with the Marriage Tribunal and Respect Life ministry.
