Roger Olien
An educator and historian, Dr. Olien has taught courses in business and regional history at the University of Texas-Permian Basin. In addition, he has authored numerous books and articles, many of which have dealt with the history of the oil and gs industries of Texas, including Wildcatters: Texas Independent Oil Men and Oil and Ideology: The Creation of the Cultural Identity of the Petroleum Industry (both with Diana Davids Olien).
Dr. Olien is also active in petroleum industry public service organizations, and was appointed to the Spindletop 100 Commission by then-Governor George W. Bush, and he sits on the board of directors for the Permian Honor Scholarship Foundation.
