Romina AlkierRomina Alkier Tomić , PhD. is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management Opatija, University in Rijeka, specialised in the field of tourism. She graduated at the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management Opatija, Univerity of Rijeka. At the same institution she finished her Master of Science and Doctoral studies and got her PhD in tourism. She teaches Introduction to Tourism, International tourism, Safety in Tourism, and Rural Tourism. She published numerous scientific and professional papers in relevant scientific journals and conference proceedings, as well as 2 books. As a researcher she participated in several scientific and professional projects. She was the leader of the scientific project „New security paradigm and valorisation of a tourist destination“. Currently she is the leader of a scientific project titled “Perception of Kvarner as a Tourist Destination for Beauty and Health”. Numerous students got their Bachelor and Masters degrees under her supervision. She reviews papers for scientific journals and conferences, participates in organization of scientific conferences, as well as in programs of lifelong learning.
