Roy CrossRoy Cross was born in Southwark and began work as an illustrator during World War II. Over the next thirty years he produced line illustration, colour artwork and top-class advertising art for the aircraft industry and other companies, including Airix, for whom he supplied artwork for ten years. In 1974 Roy set out on his own, following a love for ships and the sea, and began to paint magnificent oil paintings of sailing ships, for which he has found a steady market since then.
