Ruth RathbandBorn and raised in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, Ruth moved to Scotland in the 1990s where she worked as a Regulation Analyst in the energy sector. An Open University course in the arts, however, paved the way to her studying English and History at theUniversity of Dundee. After completing a post-graduate degree in Women, Culture and Society, she stepped out of that glorious bubble of learning and back into the world of earning a crust. Fast forward a further decade and more, add a Diploma in Life Coaching and Neuro Linguistic Programming, and Ruth is now doing what she truly believes she was always meant to do - which is to write. Her debut novel 'Siege of the Northland' (Book 1 in The Northland Series) is an action-packed fantasy adventure, which tells the story of a fearless young warrior called Jesyka: the Northland's one true heir of the ancient Tribe of Skea. As a multi-genre writer she is currently writing fiction (historical and fantasy) and non-fiction (self-coaching and wellness).
