Ruth T. ZaplinRuth Zaplin, is president of The Zaplin Group, an international organization that specializes in leader and organization development. She was a senior advisor with the National Academy of Public Administration in Washington, DC. Dr. Zaplin served as he Academy's lead on corrections initiatives and was the project director for the Academy's “Studies to Support the Prison Rape Elimination Act of 2003.” Prior to joining the Academy, Dr. Zaplin was a senior manager with BearingPoint's International Public Services. Before joining BearingPoint, she served as the Executive Director of THE PROGRAM for Women and Families (Allentown, Pennsylvania), an organization whose mission is the reintegration of female offenders and other at-risk populations into society. In this capacity, Dr. Zaplin developed, implemented, and administered more than 20 programs designed to foster the development of client skills necessary for self-sufficiency and emotional well-being. She edited Female Offenders: Critical Perspectives and Effective Interventions (Aspen Publishers, 1998). Dr. Zaplin holds a doctorate in public administration.
