S. L. KochharS. L. Kochhar obtained his master's degree from Punjab University, Chandigarh, where he was awarded the prestigious Atomic Energy Commission Scholarship. He taught courses in economic botany and plant physiology at Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa Colleg, University of Delhi, for more than four decades (1965–2009).
