Sachindra Kumar RoutDr Sachindra Kumar Rout has a strong background in refrigeration engineering, CFD and cryogenics. His experience in the three fields is deep and varied. At the moment most of his time and effort are directed towards developing the technology of close cycle regenerative cryorefrigerators, specifically the low speed GM and GM type Pulse Tube cryocoolers. The cryogenics laboratory at C V Raman Global university, which he founded with generous support and encouragement of the University and is heading today, has achieved remarkable success in recent months. The single stage GM refrigerator designed and built completely at C V Raman has achieved a low temperature of 30 Kelvin, this record being a landmark in India on the road to achieving self-sufficiently in designing cryogenic equipment. Dr. Rout has been supporting his research effort through a series of small and medium size projects secured from national funding agencies, the best among them being a mid sized project on development of GM type cryocooler from the Board of Research on Nuclear Sciences. In addition to the main research target, his team has crafted several small devices - a retort type vacuum furnace, a membrane type nitrogen generator, an Arduino controller based nitrogen purity meter and more. At present in addition to the mission of developing India’s first complete closed cycle cryocooler. Read More Read Less
