Sally MontrucchioNext Step Service Dogs Founder, Sally Montrucchio CPDT-KA After training psychiatric service dogs for two years at Camp Pendleton's Wounded Warrior Battalion, as well as service dogs that served people with differing disabilities, Sally was compelledto focus on helping these American heroes whose courage and despair touched her deeply. In 2012 Sally Montrucchio founded Next Step Service Dogs, Inc. ("Next Step") to implement a new flagship program to serve military men and women who would benefit from the use of a service dog for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder ("PTSD"), Traumatic Brain Injury ("TBI"), and mobility challenges, and also for those military men and women who would benefit from a career training service dogs for their fellow warriors. Sally Montrucchio has the following credentials: -Over 25 years of experience in training service dogs for people with disabilities in San Diego County -Achieved NSSD ADI accreditation, 2015 (Assistance Dog International, the service dog accreditation agency) -Red Cross Heroes Award, San Diego, 2015 -International speaker on Service Dog training -With her team of dedicated trainers, trained and certified over 300 service dogs for veterans with PTSD/TBI and people with other disabilities such as hearing and mobility loss, seizure response and autism during her career. -Instituted a service-dog-training therapy program for the in-patient San Diego Navy program and in patient VA program for military with severe PTSD (2012 - present). -Was previously the co-founder and training director for Tender Loving Canines Assistance Dog (TLCAD).
