Salvador Ryan

Salvador Ryan is a native of Moneygall, County Offaly. He is professor of Ecclesiastical History at St Patrick's College, Maynooth, and has published widely on popular religious culture from the Middle Ages to the twentieth century. A frequent speker and media contributor, recent publications include Marriage and the Irish: a Miscellany (Wordwell Press, 2019), Models of Priestly Formation: Assessing the Past, Reflecting on the Present and Imagining the Future (Liturgical Press, 2019), and The Cultural Reception of the Bible: Explorations in Theology, Literature and the Arts (Four Courts Press, 2018). His Birth and the Irish: a Miscellany will appear in 2021.
