Sam HaskinsSam Haskins was born in Hollywood, CA, in 1934 and grew up in Southern California. He graduated from UCLA in 1959--breaking his undergrad years with a 2-year stint in the Army where he began writing poems. He married in 1961 and moved to San Francisc to attend Hastings Law School, graduating in 1966. A practicing attorney, Haskins separated from his wife in 1970, sparking an intense poetry-writing project that resulted in the poems that form the bulk of this book. Many of these poems were first published in Pacific Sun, a weekly newspaper in Marin County where Haskins was living at the time. He published a Moon Calender and a Desert Calendar for many years. Remarried in 1991 to Mary Lou Ramsey, Haskins currently lives in San Francisco. Read More Read Less
