Sandy HillSandy Hill was bitten by the writing bug after winning first place in her school's writing competition. After a career as a data analyst and mission controller on the NASA Pioneer space shot to Jupiter, and a programmer and a software saleswoman, Sany took on a second career. She married Gene and became an instant mom to a daughter and a son. In retirement, she launched into a third career as a children's writer. Challenged by the plight of trafficked children, Sandy and Gene created a nonprofit organization, Freedom13.org, and Sandy became a speaker against child trafficking. Sandy and her husband create award-winning photographs, and they donate profits from the sale of their photographs and Sandy's books to help the children. Today, she delights in sharing time with four grandchildren. They enjoy sailing Puget Sound near their home in Washington. Over 40 years ago Sandy accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and Lord of her life.Diplomas and AwardsTeaching Credential in Computer Science from the State of CaliforniaDiploma from the Institute of Children's Literature2025 1st place winner in the photography category of the Purple Dragonfly writer's contest for On Safari to see the Animals and the Birds.2025 Winner in the spiritual/religious category of the Purple Dragonfly writer's contest for Leyni's God Adventure.2025 Winner in the spiritual/religious category of the Purple Dragonfly writer's contest for Heaven, Just Believe.2022 2nd place winner in the spiritual/religious category of the Purple Dragonfly writer's contest for Seed, Plant, Harvest.2018 Winner of the Royal Dragonfly writer's contest for Play Ball, Have Fun for both the illustrated version and the Read, Imagine, Draw version.2017 Winner in Purple Dragonfly writer's contest for Chick Heather's New Neighborhood for both the illustrated version and the Read, Imagine, Draw version.2015 One of the essay contest winners at Cahaba River Literary Journal for April in Paris. 2009 Writers-Editors Network International Writing Competition-Honorable Mention in Children's LiteratureSandy's children's books are Story Monster Approved.
