His debut nonfiction book, A Fight for a Cup of Chai, is rooted in child labor, loss, and hardship, andexamines dignity, endurance, and justice within informal industrial systems.Written from firsthand experience, the book offers a human-scale perspective on global labor history and is increasingly used in classroom discussions alongside units on industrialization and workers' rights. Thapa lives and works in New York and is currently completing his second nonfiction book, From Rice Paddies to Highrises.Trained as a National Certified School Counselor, Thapa brings an educator's lens to storytelling, often bridging personal narrative with classroom discussion around labor, history, and social responsibility.
