SapperHerman Cyril McNeile (1888-1937), who wrote under the name Sapper, was a British soldier and author best remembered as the creator of Hugh "Bulldog" Drummond. McNeile served with the Royal Engineers during the First World War and began publishing stoies while still in uniform.
