Sarah IsaiasSARAH ISAIAS, MD, has devoted her life to medicine, religious studies, writing, sports, and family. Like the famous physician, and her most cherished role model, the great Rabbi Moses Maimonides, her writing elucidates the paradoxes of a belief syste that sees no incompatibility between science and religion, reason and faith. Her ideas introduce the new metaphors of scientific discovery into the fabric of literary narrative, transforming and modernizing ancient archetypes. For over a quarter of a century, Dr. Isaias has dedicated her work to the underserved, caring for America's medically-uninsured in an inner-city clinic. She has, more recently, turned her attention to another critical need -- the pursuit of peace between peoples. Dr. Isaias is a family physician, and received her Masters degree in Jewish Studies from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California. She is a scholar of world religions, a lover of sacred text, a distance runner, a musician, and a songwriter.
