Savannah Jane ClarkJacqueline Germany is the author of My Life, My Song (MLMS), and her best friend, SJ, is the narrator. The telling of Nan's story was more complex than the concept, but SJ did a fantastic job, and she was pleased and proud of the work. It was her firt time narrating a book. SJ left the United States when she was five years old after her mom's death and went to live in England with her father. It was a strange and bewildering environment. Even though English was her first language, SJ struggled tremendously with the differences in spelling, pronunciation, diction, elocution, and her manner of speaking. It was the King's Old English.However, she made lemonade out of lemons and quickly found her calling. She made a career as a Linguist, studying language, how it works, and how people use it to communicate. Over the years, SJ mastered eight languages, speaking and understanding them fluently. Her skill and ability to translate different languages landed her jobs as a translator in many fields and organizations, including the United Nations. SJ taught languages to students at various schools in London and the surrounding districts.She has been a linguist for twenty-two years. She hopes to continue until each person can articulate and be comfortable with their communication style.
