Scotty SmileyCaptain Scotty Smiley, a Ranger and combat-diver qualified infantryman, was the Army's first active-duty, blind company commander. He was named Soldier of the Year in 2007, won and ESPY in 2008, and has received the Bronze Star, Purple McArthur Leadeship Award.
