The style gave the reader an intimate view into the mind of one character at a time, rather than jumping about from one to another and only skimming the surface. The subtleties of deep POV spurred her into seminars and classes to learn more. In the end, she started reading for authors, critiquing their mastery of the style, even teaching seminars on self-editing and deep POV in particular. Separated by 5000 miles and very different lives, Sheila and her brother, William, hadn't kept up with the smaller details of each other's lives.
