Sherry T FordSherry T. Ford is a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Nursing and has been an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse since 1992, specializing in Adult Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing. Her professional career began in Baltimore, Marylnd, where she was born and raised.She initially worked as a staff nurse on an inpatient adult behavioral health unit. She later served as a Certified Nurse Psychotherapist in a substance abuse program and eventually became Director of Geropsychiatric Services for a large healthcare system. After moving to Virginia in 2008, she worked in the Quality Department for a health insurance company until retiring in 2020.Sherry has always enjoyed writing and has been published in two nursing journals: Perspectives in Psychiatric Care and RN Magazine.Her hobbies include swimming, hiking, making beaded jewelry, and especially arrowhead hunting-an activity she and her husband, Tom, both delight in.Sherry and Tom reside in a rural county in the Shenandoah Valley, where they enjoy the beautiful views, close friendships, and visits from their combined children and grandchildren.
