Simon Awa
Simon Awa was born and raised at a traditional outpost camp near Igloolik. Over the past thirty years he has held positions as Senior Administrative Officer for the Hamlet of Pond Inlet, President of the Baffin Region Inuit Assocition, Announcer for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), Manager of Operations for CBC, and various governmental roles beginning in 1993 when Simon was appointed Executive Director for the Nunavut Implementation Commission.
