Sohom Banerjee is a researcher and policy consultant working at the intersection of public policy, digital transformation, and strategic advisory. He has led and contributed to high-impact initiatives supported by leading multilateral institutions and his work has helped inform policy conversations across South Asia.In parallel, Sohom has supported major global technology companies through research and consulting engagements on digital governance, AI adoption, platform regulation, and data policy. His core interests sit at the convergence of consumer behaviour, emerging technologies, and technology policy.A prolific contributor to both academic and policy discourse, Sohom has published in prominent peer-reviewed journals, and his writing and commentary on AI governance have appeared in major national and international newspapers. He has been featured by The Economic Times for his work on OTT platform regulation in India, and his insights on AI governance have also been carried in LiveMint. A recognised speaker on AI policy and adoption, he has delivered sessions at international forums across Japan, the Philippines, Dubai, and Thailand, including conferences hosted by Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Japan. He was also a part of the Indian Youth Delegation to China in 2017.Sohom received the Best Paper Award from the University of Middlesex for his research on AR/VR adoption in employee training, and has presented at conferences organised by IIT Kharagpur, multiple IIMs, and other leading institutions globally.
