Stephen MetzgerStephen Metzger has worked as a freelance writer since the early 1980s. He has written numerous travel books, a detective novel, and a memoir and is the co-author of the popular college composition textbook The Writer's Way. In the 1980s and '90s he as a regular contributor to a wide range of skiing, travel, and in-flight magazines. He taught English and journalism at California State University, Chico, from 1980-2010 and composition at Butte Community College from 2010-2018. His daughter Hannah teaches at Inspire School of Arts and Sciences, in Chico, CA, and his daughter Gina teaches fourth grade at Emma Wilson Elementary School, also in Chico.
