Stephen R HolmesStephen R. Holmes (Ph.D., King's College, London)is a Baptist Minister and Lecturer in Theology at the University of St Andrews, Scotland. Presently he is working on a book on the theology of John Calvin, and a popular level book on the atonement, ofering a cautious defence of penal substitution. He plans further work on the atonement, including conference papers, contributions to books, and a monograph, on the doctrine of God; this will begin with a monograph on the history of Trinitarian doctrine, but will focus on differing estimations of the relationship between Trinitarian and Christological dogma, and the perfections of God.
