Stephen WhitesideStephen Whiteside has been writing rhyming verse for over thirty years. He writes for both adults and children, but is particularly proud of the latter. He has now written well over 1000 poems. Many of these poems have been published in magazines andanthologies, both in Australia or overseas, and won awards, including “The Sash” (a story of Ned Kelly’s boyhood) for which Whiteside was awarded Children’s Poem of the Year in the 2013 Australian Bush Laureate Awards. His poems are generally written to be read aloud. Stephen works as a medical practitioner (GP) in Melbourne.
