His novel The Consequences of Love, short-listed for the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize, was translated into more than twenty languages. He currently lives in Brussels where he has launched a ceative writing academy for refugees and asylum seekers, along with the Asmara-Addis Literary Festival (In Exile).
