Susan HaslerSusan Hasler joined the CIA in 1983. Over the next 21 years, she had a unique vantage point on history. She worked the graveyard shift in the CIA operations center during the Soviet coup attempt of 1991. She served as speechwriter to three Directors f Central Intelligence during a time of serial public scandals, including the discovery of Aldrich Ames' treachery. She was a senior analyst in the CIA Counterterrorism Center during 9/11. Since leaving the agency in 2004, Hasler has written four novels and a book of essays and drawings.
