Tashi Tenzing

Tashi Tenzing, the grandson of Tenzing Norgay Sherpa, is Himalayan born and bred. Raised and educated in India, he worked as a trekking and mountaineering guide in the Himalaya before meeting and marrying his Australian-born wife, Judy. Judy had sent over a decade in the Himalaya and India as one of the region's first female mountain guides. In 1990 they settled in Australia and established their own specialist Himalayan travel agency, Tenzing's Himalayan Travel Centre.

Tashi now lectures on the history and climbing of Everest, and Judy, a graduate in South Asian history, teaches courses on the cultures and history of the Himalayan kingdoms and India.
