Ted KramerTheodore (Ted) Kramer was born on January 4th, 1928, during the inter-war period between World War I and World War II in the border region of the Balkans. In elementary school, he was approached by a classmate saying: " you must be from the enemy, sice you are alive." He answered: "alive, yes, but not an enemy." The importance of this exchange seeped into his mind as he clung to life for many decades.

He chose to write a book about Akhenaten because he was looking for a kindred spirit. I leave it to the reader to decide whether he found one or not.

Ted escaped through the Iron Curtain alone in 1949. He then hitched a ride on the Orient Express to France where he completed his schooling earning a DVM degree from the University of Paris. He practiced veterinary medicine in the fairyland of Normandy for a few years and then emigrated to Canada and eventually to the USA where he earned a Ph.D. in microbiology. He served as professor of microbiology at two American and one Canadian university. Ted discovered three vaccines against animal diseases and one benefiting public health - for these he received two awards.

In his 'golden years' Ted turned to his youthful dream, writing historical novels. His present book 'Akhenaten - Pharaoh of Light' was written because he discovered in Akhenaten a kindred spirit, a pharaoh not for smiting the enemy but for peace and love. I hope the readers will agree. In his many migrations Ted has learned to speak and write in seven languages.

Ted married his lifelong sweetheart Felice Helvey Kramer and they had three children and six grandchildren, the pride and joy of their life. Felice passed in 2015 but remains alive in the many memories of their life together.
