Thomas Edward BeemanThomas E. Beeman has been a healthcare executive for over 44 years both in the civilian and military sector. Beeman most recently was the COO of Regional Operations at Penn Medicine and prior to that had 27 years of experience as a CEO of several lare Health Systems. He served 33 years in the US Navy attaining the rank of Rear Admiral (U). His last duty station was the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery as the Assistant Deputy Surgeon General of the Navy. Beeman was the CEO at Lancaster General Health a large complex healthcare system in Pennsylvania and also the CEO of Saint Thomas Health a multi-hospital system in Nashville, Tennessee. He was appointed by the President to sit on the COVER Commission, which is looking at ways to enhance mental healthcare for veterans. Beeman holds numerous military awards including the Legion of Merit (3 awards). He serves on various University Boards and in his new role of Executive in Residence for Penn Medicine enjoys teaching, mentoring and writing.
