Thomas G DeWittThomas G. DeWitt, MD, FAAP, is the Carl Weihl Professor of Pediatrics, director of the Division of General and Community Pediatrics, designated institutional officer, and associate chair for education in the Department of Pediatrics at the Cininnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He received his bachelor of arts degree from Amherst College and his medical degree from the University of Rochester; he completed a residency and fellowship at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Dr DeWitt served as president of the Academic Pediatric Association and chair of both the Steering Committee of the American Academy of Pediatrics Pediatric Research in Office Settings network and the Committee on Pediatric Education. He served as a member of the US Preventive Services Task Force, chairing their methodology workgroup, and is currently a member of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education Pediatric Residency Review Committee and the national board of Reach Out and Read. As associate chair, he has led the department in pursuing innovative and effective approaches to graduate education, including an innovative online masters in medical education program.
