Thorsten KingreenThorsten Kingreen is professor of public law, social law and health law at the University of Regensburg since 2003. Previously, he was a professor at Bielefeld University from 2002 to 2003. He turned down an offer to the Ludwig Maximilians Universityin Munich in 2011. In the 2014/2015 he was a visiting professor at the University of California in Berkeley. Prof. Kingreen studied law at the Philipps University of Marburg and the Universite de Geneve and completed his legal traineeship in Dusseldorf and Tel Aviv. He received his doctorate and habilitation at the University in Munster. Important focuses in research and teaching are German, European and international human rights protection, the constitutional law of the European Union and social law, especially health care law.
