Toshiyuki ShiraiDr. Toshiyuki Shirai is the Director of the Department of Accelerator and Medical Physics at the National Institutes for Quantum and Radiological Science and Technology (QST). He received his PhD degree from the Faculty of Science, Kyoto University. fter graduation, he worked in the accelerator and beam physics at the Institute for Chemical Research, Kyoto University. At QST, his research interests are in medical physics and medical accelerators for particle therapy, especially carbon-ion radiotherapy.
