Uma ChopraUma Chopra was born on 7th July, 1952 in her ancestral home in Patiala to Air Vice Marshal Raj Kumar Singh Marya and Prem Marya. The author did graduation in B.A. English (Hons) from Lady Sriram College, Delhi, in 1973. Later, she did her Master Degre in English Literature from Delhi University. Uma Chopra broughtup in a family where confluence of Hindu culture and Western culture took place. She said that Western culture was brought to her by her father and Hindu culture from her mother.
