UrmilaSipra Roy, AKA Urmila, was born and brought up in India. After completing an MPhil from the University of Calcutta, India, she served as a teacher in a school for under-privileged students.She is an active member of the Academy of American Poets, IWW, Florida State Poetry Association and a participant in the Inter-generational Program in DOROT, a Jewish Senior Center. She has written poems, a novel, memoirs, short stories, non-fiction as well as lyrics and drama-skits, which have been staged successfully under the instructions of Broadway Internees.
