Valentina Giuffra

Valentina Giuffra is Associate Professor of History of Medicine at the Department of Translational Research and New Technologies in Medicine and Surgery of the University of Pisa. Her major lines of research have focused on the paleopathoogy and bioarchaeology of medieval and Renaissance populations, applying a broad approach to the study of large skeletal series, combining methodologies from palaeodemography, physical anthropology, paleopathology and forensic science. She has authored over 100 scientific articles as well as handbooks and other contributions.
