Vanumati SahooBorn on 25th October, 1961, at Odagaon of Nayagarh District, Vanumati Sahoo, M.A. in history from Utkal University, is one of the well-known writers of contemporary Odia literature. Though a housewife, she has up till now thirty-one books to her credt: eleven novels, two novelette collections, sixteen short story collections and two anthologies of poems which speaks of her versatility in modern Odia literature. Apart from focusing critically on human characteristics, she can narrate poignantly the psychology of women.
