Vanumati SahooBorn on 25th October, 1961, at Odagaon of Nayagarh District, Vanumati Sahoo, M.A. in history from Utkal University, is one of the well-known writers of contemporary Odia literature. She has up till now fifty books to her credit: twenty novels, three ovelette collections, twenty short story collections, three collections of poems and four children science books which speak of her versatility in different genres of modern Odia literature. Apart from focussing critically on human characteristics, she narrates poignantly the psychology of women.
