He served as the 24/7 caregiver for his spouse, the late Ann Margaret Wentz Ewing, Ph.D. during her five year journey into and trough the land of forgetfulness. A retired Episcopal priest and academic, he currently is a staff writer for the Wet Mountain Tribune, community weekly newspaper serving Custer County, Colorado. He has taught at universities and seminaries both here and abroad, and as a pastoral counselor addressed healing with domestic violence perpetrators and the severely mentally ill.
