William C. HoodWilliam C. Hood (1922-2014) was Professor of Economics at the University of Toronto from 1946 to 1964 before moving to Ottawa. Between 1964 and 1979 he held a series of senior public service positions including Advisor to the Bank ofCanada, then Assistant Deputy, Associate Deputy and finally Deputy Minister of Finance for the Government of Canada. In 1980 he moved to Washington D. C. where he took the position of Economic Counsellor and Director of Research at the International Monetary Fund.
