William KeysAfter serving in the Australian Army with distinction in both World War II and the Korean War, Sir William Keys won the Military Cross (MC). He was appointed National Secretary of the Returned Services League in 1961 and elected National President in1978. His ten-year term as president was notable for his support of multiculturalism and promoting Australia's role in Asia. For a lifetime of service to war veterans, their dependants and community, he was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 1970, a Knight Bachelor in 1980 and a Companion of the Order of Australia (AC) in 1988.
