William Lucas CollinsWilliam Lucas Collins (1815-1887) was born in Swansea, south Wales. He received a Bachelor of Arts in the Humanities from Jesus College, Oxford, in 1838, followed by a MA in 1840. While he held a number of positions in the Church of England, he is bet remembered for his writing on the Classics for William Blackwood and Sons, where he was the founding editor of their Ancient Classics for English Readers series.
