Yvonne HampdenYvonne Hampden is a native New Yorker raised in Manhattan's upper West Side (Frederick Douglas Housing Projects), then near City College of New York near Sugar Hill. As a teenager, her family relocated to the Bronx where she attended Sacred Heart of ary High School. Graduating early, she entered the CUNY Colleges part-time, while bringing up her daughter, working occasionally to make ends meet. She has always interacted with the community to create themes for her writing, but at the same time was considered an "individualist," someone who was shy and always on the go. Yvonne Hampden lived in Yonkers, NY, from 1994 to 2013 working as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She is currently pursuing a full-time career in writing.
