Zed Starkovich
Zed Starkovich is a writer, filmmaker, and audio producer whose work sits at the intersection of independent art and digital democracy. Born to Hippie parents in Palo Alto, California, he studied film and physics at NYU before returning to his hom state to work in the entertainment industry and raise a family while complaining about politics.
Alongside his work on-set, Zed has spent decades in audio production-recording, mixing, and editing music, producing, directing, and narrating audiobooks, and telling stories that center everyday people rather than corporate myth-making. An early proponent of the "digital future," he uses accessible tools to create and share stories on modest budgets, with a focus on workers, outsiders, and communities whose stories rarely make it to the big screen.
As a father and independent researcher, Starkovich continues to focus on projects that blend craft, technology, and civic imagination, aiming to change how people see themselves, each other, and our collective history as we move toward a brighter future.
