About the Book

Tom Roberts is on the trail of a brutal serial killer named Fillmore Lamb. He's very close to catching him, but fears he'll kill again before he closes in. Tom and his small group of specialist have tapped into the phone system of the huge international company, Abaddon Corp., known as Evil, Inc. by the few who know about its secret group of enforcers who remove major business opponents. They know that Lamb gets his orders to kill from the company, using a computer, a modem and the phone system. They know this because Tom used to have Fillmore Lamb's job. Once Tom discovered his new job involved murdering business rivals, he tried to quit. Planning to make an example of Tom, Evil, Inc. wiped out his family. But when the enforcer moved in to finish him off, Tom killed him then faked his own death. Using the money the dead enforcer had pilfered from Evil, Inc., he established his own secret group to sabotage Evil, Inc. and stop their band of killers. As Tom's efforts began to have effect, Evil, Inc. assigns Frankie Burns to investigate. Once she decides the enforcer program has to end and that Tom Roberts is the source of the recent problems, she hires an international assassin to wipe out everyone associated with the program. J.C. Stone is a ruthless, calculating killer who considers himself to be living on borrowed time with nothing to fear and less to lose. Using information supplied by Burns, he begins to systematically eliminate all the former enforcers, working his way towards Fillmore Lamb and Tom Roberts. Tina Metcalf, herself a former enforcer and a secret confederate of Tom's becomes aware of the threat and joins Tom's team, alerting him of the new killer as well as Evil, Inc.'s latest dirty scheme to peddle a process to make it easy to smuggle drugs. Just as Tom and his team close in on Lamb, Stone beats them out and murders Lamb. Alerted that Stone is near, Tom turns his substantial assets to finding Stone before Stone can make his final move. Trapping Stone as he tries to buy guns, the two men fight it out, Tom finally winning the bloody battle. With the assassin out of the way, they move in to sabotage Evil, Inc.'s latest hideous project, successfully foiling the scheme and causing a major disruption to the huge company.
