From the vibrant heart of South Africa comes a gripping collection of "incestuous webs," complex family bonds, and a testament to honest communication as the ultimate cornerstone of human connection. Spanning from a central novella to three punchy short stories, this anthology serves as a powerful reminder: every ordinary life holds an extraordinary purpose.
Having walked the dusty streets of Pimville to the vibrant pulse of Daveyton, Vusi Rubushe views the world through the eyes of the "everyman," uncovering the remarkable within the mundane.
In Part One of this series, you'll encounter:
- The Chosen One:
A novella exploring the weight of destiny. Thamsanqa's life was meticulously mapped out by his parents' final wishes: he must marry Rose. However, a hidden pregnancy and a scandalous delivery within the church shatter his predetermined path, igniting a chain reaction that will echo for decades.
- Blood Money: A high-stakes tale of an accidental heist, where a young woman inadvertently cons a corrupt ward councillor out of ten million rand.
- Stop the Rain: A poignant love story about a woman searching for "the one" in all the wrong places, unaware that her Mr. Right has been living right next door all along.
- Against All Odds: The inspiring journey of an orphaned girl who survives a harrowing upbringing to defy the statistics and become a successful lab technician.
Vusi Rubushe was born in the heart of Soweto, but his stories belong to anyone who has ever felt "ordinary" while dreaming of something more.
