About the Book

This novel was inspired by real people and actual events. This truly is a gangster story told like no other! It brings a breath of fresh air to the gangster genres of today which have become all too foolish, predictable, and boring. My novel will open your eyes to an underworld that exposes, "who really are the bad guys in our society." The novel starts out in the slums of South West Yonkers, New York. This is where a mentally and physically abused youth first begins to hone his skills for the violent life that lies ahead of him. In a failed attempt to save him from his fate, his father moves him far away from the crime ridden streets that he so passionately embraced to "The Lilly white pristine streets" of a bourgeoning neighborhood called Coral Springs, Florida. The reader will then be taken on a wild and crazy adventure spanning the pacific. First stop, Olongapo City, a modern day Sodom and Gomorrah. Here the reader will enjoy a real account once in a lifetime story of hedonism, love, and violence. Next stop Hawaii. This is where the reader becomes privy to ancient Hawaiian mysticisms never witnessed by outsiders. Learn about how the Hawaiian Mafia struggles against the Japanese Yakuza to maintain power on their island. Hawaii is also a place where lifelong friendships are made and the true love for a princess is found. The reader will then be taken behind the scenes and will learn firsthand about the Navy's hidden hazing ritual! A true story of how the Navy turns pollywogs into shellbacks. You will then drop anchor off the coast of Pattaya Beach, Thailand. This is a place where the women are as exotic and potent as the drugs. This will also be the place where a Navy drug smuggling legend is born. Later on in the story, you will be entertained wholeheartedly by an incident that occurred on the Cook island of Roratonga. No Navy ship has visited this port of call since WW11, and after we left, no Navy ship will be welcome again! Just when you thought the story couldn't get any better, you will be taken back to South Florida and Coral Springs. Now the reader will become engrossed into a twisting tale full of divided loyalties, unspeakable acts of violence, racketeering, government corruption, sex, drugs, and conspiracy! The story line, dark humor, and characters in this novel will leave the reader craving for more! There's no need to worry though. This story has "legs" and is destined to become the most controversial piece of literature of our time! The Author of Balls and Instincts, Michael Drosdowich
About the Author: I poured my heart and soul into this novel, thus a lot about who I am is contained in these pages. If it wasn't for a beautiful angel I met on the beach over 20 years ago, I would have never been alive to write it. After introducing myself to her, she asked me my occupation. I gave her a sly smile and coolly replied, "I'm a gangster." She giggled and smiled back replying, "No you're not. You just haven't met someone who believes in you yet." We've been skipping down the "Yellow Brick Road" together since.
