In den modernen Wissensgesellschaften mit ihren stetig steigenden Anforderungen an ihre Mitglieder gilt die Bereitschaft zum Lebenslangen Lernen als Voraussetzung für eine aktive soziale Teilhabe. Die wachsenden Ansprüche an die Kompetenzen und die Lernbereitschaft der einzelnen Gesellschaftsmitglieder stellen jedoch insbesondere jene, die Schwierigkeiten im Bereich der grundlegenden Kulturtechniken wie dem Lesen, Schreiben und Rechnen haben, vor kaum lösbare Probleme. Die Erwachsenenbildungslandschaft in Deutschland versucht die Betroffenen zwar verstärkt mit dem Ausbau zielgruppengerechter Angebote und der Professionalisierung des pädagogischen Personals zu unterstützen, jedoch ist die Nachfrage nach Grundbildungsangeboten noch immer gering. Der Fokus der vorliegenden Arbeit lag auf der Frage, welche Bedingungsfaktoren für die Aufnahme und das Gelingen nachholender Alphabetisierungsprozesse verantwortlich sind. Rückgebunden an die biographieorientierte Theorie des transitorischen Lernens nach Alheit und den systemisch-konstruktivistischen Ansatz des Emotionslernens nach Arnold wurden problemzentrierte Interviews mit Alphabetisierungskursteilnehmenden geführt und auf Grundlage der Grounded Theory Methodologie ausgewertet. Als zentraler Erkenntnisgewinn konnte herausgestellt werden, dass das nachholende Lernen funktionaler AnalphabetInnen durch ein Zusammenspiel komplexer Prozesse und Bedingungen begründet werden kann, in welchem individuelle Gefühlslagen kognitiven Begründungen entgegenstehen, die wiederum sowohl eingebettet sind in den jeweiligen biographischen Erfahrungskontext des Individuums als auch beeinflusst durch aktuelle lebensweltliche sowie Lehr-Lernbedingungen im Alphabetisierungskurs.
About the Author: Dr. phil. Susanne Ulm, Jg. 1981, studierte Diplom-Sozialwissenschaften an der Universität Mannheim. Von 2010 bis 2014 arbeitete sie als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin an der Technischen Universität Kaiserslautern. Seit 2014 ist sie als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin an der Universität Koblenz-Landau, Campus Koblenz, am Institut für Pädagogik im Bereich Forschung und Entwicklung in Organisationen beschäftigt. Ihre Arbeitsschwerpunkte liegen in der Organisationspädagogik, Qualitätsmanagement und -entwicklung, Evaluation sowie Professionalität und Professionalisierung.
